Join Confluence and the Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership in planting trees to restore native habitat along the Sandy and Columbia River.
About this event
Along with planting native shrubs and trees, we will be breaking down fallen limbs, making habitat piles, removing blackberry from around native plants and cleaning up the bird blink.
- Pre-registration is required and space is limited. All ages and abilities are welcome!
- A registration form must be completed for each volunteer.
- Parents: please fill out a form for each child/dependent. Students ages 16 or older can volunteer without an adult present.
- Accessibility: The planting site is in a flat area about a 20-minute walk from the parking lot on a dirt path.
- What to bring: Face covering or mask and a water bottle.
- What we provide: sanitized planting gloves, shovels, extra masks, snacks and warm beverages.
- What to wear: Long sleeves, pants, rain gear and sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.
- Before the event: You will receive an email with a specific parking location and additional details.
At the event: Estuary Partnership and Confluence staff will share project goals and demonstrate planting techniques. We will review COVID guidelines to ensure safe planting, distribute tools and organize volunteers into small, dispersed groups.
We welcome ALL ages, races and ethnicities, religions, gender identities, countries of origin, sexual orientation, immigrants and refugees, abilities and disabilities, spoken and signed languages. Together, we are a stronger community working toward a common goal.
Estuary Partnership staff are closely following the CDC’s COVID guidelines and will alert all registered guests to any event changes, including cancellation.
