Indigenous Weaving Workshop with Stephanie Craig

Stephanie Craig is a seventh-generation basket weaver, taught by her great great aunties, grandmother and Tribal Elders with basketry that’s been in the family for over 100 years. She is a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, living with her family in her mother’s Kalapuyan traditional homelands and on her Father’s 150 year old family farm. Stephanie is committed to documenting, educating, and preserving cultural practices for future generations.

Weaving Sampler Workshop- (beginners level)

December 2nd, 2023, 10 – 4pm

Learn how to make cedar roses, small tule mats, duck decoys, and cordage using different traditional materials. Just in time for the holidays! Our time together is filled with weaving and conversation stemming from Stephanie’s Indigenous traditional ecological and cultural knowledge and personal family stories passed down for generations. 

Cost: $110 for instruction and materials
A minimum of 10 participants necessary to hold workshop, with a limit of 15.
