Join Confluence and filmmaker Woodrow Hunt (Tule Films) for the premiere of his most recent collaboration with Confluence, a documentary short called Stories from the Canoe. The film centers on Pacific Northwest Tribal canoe culture. The program includes a panel talk with representatives from Native Canoe Families featured in Stories from the Canoe, followed by a Q&A.

The event will also include a screening of Hunt’s previous film, Salmon’s Agreement. It features Indigenous stories and perspectives from the Columbia River that illuminate our relationship with a fish that remains a cultural lifeblood to Native people. Confluence and Hunt have also previously collaborated on the short film series Stories from the River.
