Indigenous Youth in Oregon – Ages 14-20
Do you have a passion for digital media, photography, videography, theatre, art, design or music? Do you want to develop and showcase your skills? Have a story to tell?
Join us on February 26th, as presenters share about their art form and their personal journey as an Indigenous artist/professional. Presenters will lead breakouts for youth interested in their medium and guide youth through project proposals.
After the 26th, participating youth will have the opportunity to submit a project proposal for an art piece to be presented in a final showcase on May 14, 2022 in the theme: “Telling Our Stories-Amplifying Indigenous Voices.” Youth will have access to a mentor in the art form they are interested in presenting. Project proposals will be accepted until March 5, 2022. (Link for submissions will be sent after the retreat).
*While the work may be a painting, for example, the deliverable will still be a video presentation of the work, the meaning, and an artist introduction.
Accepted artist will receive:
Supplies, resources and mentor support
A $200 award for completing projects by May 7, 2022 and participating in a the IYDC showcase on May 14, 2022
