Support Native Stories. Support Native Futures.

Support Native youth storytelling and educator leadership

Confluence supports Native youth, artists, and educators through storytelling, media-making, teaching, and professional development grounded in cultural knowledge and community practice.

Your support sustains programs where Native youth tell their own stories, educators are resourced for cultural teaching, and learning networks grow across communities.

This month, all donations are matched up to $5,000. Thanks to a generous donation from Paul and Deborah Speer, your gift goes twice as far.

The Cache

Confluence has a long history of producing publications, podcasts, films, and educational materials rooted in deep relationships with Tribes and Native communities. Our work is frequently called upon for curriculum development, classroom resources, workshops, and public programming, reflecting a strong and ongoing demand from both Native and non-Native communities. We are now building on this foundation by exploring a social enterprise publishing arm that will continue and expand this work through books, journals, zines, curricula, films, podcasts, and more, while sustaining our mission-driven programming.

In The Cache, Native youth are creating zines, media projects, and storytelling work that reflects their own experiences and perspectives. These projects are built through workshops that prioritize voice, experimentation, and authorship.

Supporting Native Educators

Confluence supports workshop leaders and educators through stipends and honoraria that recognize cultural knowledge as skilled, relational work.

PLC program: Educators across communities are participating in the PLC program, sharing practice and strengthening culturally grounded teaching in their classrooms.

PD cohort: A new professional development cohort launching this fall will expand long-term support for Native educators building culturally grounded teaching practice.

“Native educators are essential in preserving and revitalizing Indigenous cultures, languages, and traditions, while simultaneously educating diverse student populations. As such, they often encounter unique challenges not experienced by their non-Native peers. Our goal was to create a unique, culturally-responsive program that supports and empowers Native educators in their on-going professional development, while fostering a true sense of community among them.” -Vawn Jason Borges, Education Programs Manager
