Celebrating Earth Day with Mulch!

April 21, 2018

They swept. They weeded. The picked up litter. They mulched and, along the way, they learned about the native history of the Columbia River. More than 40 volunteers celebrated Earth Day 2018 by sprucing up the Confluence Land Bridge at the Ft. Vancouver National Historic Site. The event was a collaboration among Confluence, the City of Vancouver, National Park Service and community friends. Veterans came from The Mission Continues and so did the Boy Scouts. Thanks also to the City of Vancouver's Urban Youth Program for treating us to grilled burgers and hot dogs after all the hard work! Check out this great article and slideshow in today's Columbian.
